Brianna's Biography

A native to the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, Brianna (affectionately known as Bri) began her dance career at Fran Peters' Studio of Dance, a premier award-winning studio in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Fran’s Studio provided a strong foundation with ballet, tap, and jazz techniques (2001 to 2008). In 2007, Brianna joined the company of another Washington area premiere studio, Agency 9 Dance Studio, under the direction of CJ Hitchcock (2007 to 2012). From 2009 to 2012, Brianna took private study with the illustrious Monica Johnson, MJ International Dance Experience (formerly Monica Johnson Institute of Dance), where she developed a deeper love for pointe and advanced quickly in her training. Brianna was a pre-professional company member of Capitol Movement, Inc. under Stephanie Jojokian where she developed her passion for contemporary dance with Nicole Klett (2011 to 2015).

She has trained at various elite seasonal intensive and residency programs including Debbie Allen Dance Academy (Los Angeles, CA), The Rock School of Ballet (Philadelphia, PA), The Maryland Youth Ballet (Silver Spring, MD), and the Dance Theater of Harlem Youth Residency (Washington, DC). Brianna credits her work with Monica Johnson as having led to her being accepted at the prestigious Rock School of Ballet. She also has performed at renowned venues such as Walt Disney World (FL), FedEx Field home to the Washington Football Team (MD), and the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts (Washington, DC).

Brianna is a former Washington Football Team All-Star Dancer, a four-time Washington Football Team Jr. Cheerleader, a four-time member of the National Cherry Blossom Parade All-Star Tap Team, and a former cast member of The Nutcracker, with the distinguished Joffrey Ballet of Chicago.

Brianna attended and graduated from the Center for the Visual & Performing Arts Program at Suitland High School as a Dance Major in 2016. Not long after graduating, she continued her love for dance and began her career as a dance instructor and choreographer.

As an instructor, Brianna has been able to find her style of artistry and began telling her own stories through choreography. She enjoys creating a story through dance and being able to mentor and guide her younger dancers. Even as an instructor, Brianna actively trains to keep her skills sharp. She believes, “If I’m sharp on my technique and skills, my students will be too.” She feels teaching is one of the best ways for her to give back to the community and supply the next generation of young dancers with lifelong skills and techniques. Brianna is a teaching performance artist. She currently has private students, guest teaches, and is faculty with multiple studios throughout the Washington, DC metro area and Pennsylvania. Brianna's future teaching endeavors will include collaborations in Atlanta, GA; Los Angeles, CA, New York, NY; Raleigh/Durham, NC, and a few international locations.
